Yatha Raja Tatha Praja (As the Ruler so the Ruled)

It's been said that organizations are like trees...People at top see monkeys down and people at bottom see a$$h*les up...Its true in most of the organizations. People who are at the bottom of this organizational value chain don’t get or forget the original purpose of their own organization i.e. organization’s Mission/Vision/Core Values. As long as the organization is smaller, it is evident that the organization follows its CEO’s attitude, but as soon as the organization goes into growth phase, its purpose of existence starts diluting and the organizations inculcates a mix culture. Major part of it comes from CEO and other part comprises of the attitude of its top management and employees. The organization fails to instill its CEO’s attitude or the CEO fails to indoctrinate his/her own attitude/values in the organization. And the mixed culture makes the employees feel that the top management has lost it. And they start following that same mediocre culture in their work. This in turn fuels the top management’s perception about the bottom layer i.e. there are monkeys sitting down. After all, organization absorbs its CEO's attitude.

It is very difficult for the organization to understand its CEO's attitude and thoughts. Rather I would say it is difficult to inculcate CEO’s attitude. He has not become CEO overnight or just like that. There were enormous efforts, hard work behind his success. His position is not any stroke of luck. He has earned it with shear amount of work, talent/intelligence, and risk taking ability. CEO’s are never fools. They are visionaries. But this is true in case of those organizations who sustain over a period of time through all the huddles, problems and crisis situations. Those organizations are Great organizations and I believe in the fact that CEO’s play vital role in it. His own attitude and value system defines his organization’s value system. That is why the title, ‘yatha raja tatha praja...’

Whenever you enter any organization you feel the culture of that organization. That is the reflection of CEO’s attitude. If the CEO himself doesn’t respect others then you will feel that disrespect from the employees or top management won’t respect the employees. If the CEO is loving and caring, you will be greeted wholeheartedly and warmly. Obviously the organization is CEO’s baby and will follow Dad’s/Mom’s attitude…

कुब्जा

This is for the first time I am putting my poem on my blog... this poem is about one of Kansa's (Lord Krishna's Mama) servant/dasee, 'Kubja'. She was very ugly looking and physically deformed in shape ( the hunchback woman ). Recently read a marathi novel 'अजून नाही जागे गोकुळ' about her written by famous marathi author 'गो. नी. दांडेकर'. Can't put everything on this blog, however I could feel the pain Kubja went through... She suffered a lot. Her mother was killed by Kansa in front of her eyes and still she didn't have any choice but serve the cruel Kans.

She awaits the arrival of Lord Krishna, who will end this nightmare. She urges Lord Krishna to come for the rescue.. I have tried to put her pain in words here... I wonder if our mother earth is crying the same...

Are we 'Independent' yet?

15th Aug…Our Independence Day… Yes, it is fine to wish every Indian, but frankly speaking this is one of the gloomiest and depressing Independence Day. Swine flu, draught, flood, earthquake, terrorism, inflation and ‘good ol’ issues like poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, corruption (this list doesn’t seem like ending…), population, pollution, dirty politics, ‘religion-cast-etc-etc ‘based racism and what not… This never ending list is making me panicky. What the “@*$#” are we doing to this awesome country???

We are doing something wrong here, aren’t we? Definitely…

We all are good at talking, but when it comes to execution we fail (except in case of destruction where we show great mob mentality; but when it comes to doing something right everybody shows their back to us)

Most of us have turned into ‘Eunuchs’, including me… and more than that we have accepted this. This is more frightening than anything.

Whenever I look around, what do I find? Our basic necessities are plagued with.

Food we eat, screwed…

Air we breathe, ditto…

Water we drink, ditto …

Transport, ditto …

Political system, ditto …

Education system, ditto …

Police system, ditto …

Economy, ditto …

Natural resources, ditto …

Laws and regulation system, ditto …

Money we use, ditto …

Media, ditto …

And so on….

In short, our country is suffering from not only one disease, but its health is in chronic state. And we all are fine with this… “Chalta hai (Its ok)”, “Kuc nahi hoga iss country ka (nothing’s gonna change)”… what is the use of such lines? Why can’t we do something about it? What is the use if we can’t even capitalize on the point that we have the larger percentage of young Indians?

So, NOW IT’S THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION… enough of this Gyan… I am fed up with myself, my helplessness… There is no one to guide a single Indian… Whom should I follow? Is there a single ‘Leader‘in this huge country?

I am proud to be an Indian… I am proud to be a part of country with this great heritage… but we should build our country over it… we can’t live in past and glorify things… on one side we have corporate India and on the other side, poor India… so in short, ‘Richers are getting richer; and poor are getting poorer…’

I am not blaming anyone, I am blaming myself… I am frustrated with myself… We all remember out country in the month of Aug or Jan… Why so? How many of us are actually proud to be an Indian? How many of us even know the meaning of our national anthem? There is lot of things to write about…

Just need your inputs on what should we do to rectify this…We need to come out of this ‘Hibernation’

You, Me and Ahum ("I")...

“It has been always your mood, your nature, your convenience, your emotions, your sentiments… Seems like I don’t have any emotions?” He said. It was like a gush of cold wind on her face. She was shaken badly. For a minute or two, she couldn’t reply. It was silence all over. Suddenly he broke the silence, saying, “Come on now, will you please speak?” she said, “What should I speak about? You said it all…”

Now he realized the gravity of his words. He experienced the strength of silence. It was killing him. She was almost in tears. His mind was thinking, rather searching for words, but couldn’t find anything relevant. He was praying to GOD, “Please give me some words, anything, any damn silly thing which will make her feel better. I can’t take this silence.” He was looking her eyes, trying to fathom the ‘almond space’; trying to find what’s going on her mind. She spoke (at last),”Do you really think so?” she continued,”Please let me know the truth. Do you really think so? Haven’t I ever ignored you or insulted your emotions and feelings?” He couldn’t answer. He was still searching for words.

She said, “Dear, I have never done that, not even in my dreams… I can’t think about this. I know I am not expressive. I tell you almost everything that comes in my mind; but my nature is like that, I am not expressive or outgoing person. I appreciate each and everything you do for me. Your single message tells me that I am special. Although I reply to it in a single line, that doesn’t mean I don’t admire them. I love to read your messages. But I can’t write that well. I know, I don’t call or message you often, but that is not everything, is it?”
